Self Portrait

Pictured above is my ink self portrait. I made this in my Introduction to the Visual Arts course. In this class, we learn a lot about different types of art. It’s cool to be able to explore different art forms. In this unit we learned about the use of ink. I did a lot of test trials, using different nibs and line variations to get used to inking. Our final project was a self portrait over words. The word I chose was magnificent. This is left out of the ink so you can see it clearly. I used a light box to trace all of the dark areas on my face. I then inked over those areas to create form in my face. I enjoyed this project because ink is fun and can create a lot of things.
