Charcoal Drawing

Presented above is the charcoal drawing that I completed for my Introduction to Visual Arts class. In this class we are learning about a variety of types of art. For this unit, we learned how to use different types of charcoal and graphite to create form in an object. We learned about highlight and areas of contrast. For my project, I drew a collection of objects. After that, I began by shading in the darkest areas with charcoal and blending it out. I also used white charcoal to bring out the highlight points. This was a learning process, but I am overall proud of my drawing. It took some time and was a little messy, but I enjoyed working on it and learning how to properly create form with charcoal.
